The students
and instructors worked hard this past week to prepare for their
Friendship Cup performance. We appreciate all the parents that
came to watch and support the band. Thank you to the parents
that helped move equipment and serve lunch at the park. Thank
you to the bingo managers and workers that raise the money to
provide this marching program. Thank you to Mr. L, Brad, Zack,
and Vickie for their many hours and talents to teach and to
lead our students to be successful. New photos on yorkphoto.com.
The big competition (CBA regionals) is coming on Monday, October
13!
The next rehearsals are critical to this performance - to
continue on, the band must score well at regionals.
Jazz band and orchestra concert is Tuesday, October 7, 7pm
in the auditorium. Jazz students that haven't paid their $13
need to do so before the concert to receive their jazz band
shirt.
We need bingo workers for 2 extra sessions on Tuesday, October
7, and Tuesday, October 14, from 6pm until approximately 10pm.
If you haven't worked bingo yet, this is an opportunity to help
out and see what it is all about. Adults and students, please
plan to come to at least one of these sessions. Contact Monica
with any questions. Our current bingo workers need your help
- they are mighty, but few and overworked. All students are
expected to work bingo to support the band programs.

- We will probably arrive back at school at approximately

off the field during performance - there is a long big hill
to get from warmup area to field and back to truck!
- As always, parent help with uniform checkout and more importantly,
checkin (upon return to school), is welcome.
- Please be courteous to the instructors and pick up your
student promptly after truck unloading and uniform checkin.
Thanks for your support. Go Blazers.
- Band and orchestra students: males must get their own black
tux (black cummerbund, black bow tie, black shoes, white shirt
- look for used tux sales or basic packages offered through
major retailers) before the first band concert 12/11; females
must purchase the concert dress (2-piece, black short sleeve
top with palazzo pants) for $65 (good for all high school
years). Please put in labeled envelope in band office mailbox.
- Checks payable to OHS Band.
New pictures are on yorkphoto.com. If you didn't receive an
e-mail link, please send your email to klgau@netzero.net and
identify your student/relationship to the band.
If you have not paid your $11 for the band tshirt designed by
the student band board, please bring it by Friday. All students
must have a band tshirt. (Checks payable to OHS.) There are a
few XXL shirts parents can buy to support the band. Send $11 with

bingo program needs adult and student help to continue; otherwise,
this fundraising program will end. Please visit the bingo
page, check the bingo
schedule, and contact Monica
Argotsinger asap so these band programs can continue. Applications
for scholarship money based partially on volunteer support are
available to help with fees.
Pictures are now available online at www.yorkphoto.com. To
receive an e-mail with access to the pictures, please e-mail
Karen with your name and
relationship to the band.
Stadium blankets with OHS logo are being sold

side and a fleece side. Reply to this e-mail if you would like
to purchase. We need volunteers to sell these at the home football
games also – (students can also do this during third quarter).
